03.04.2006 Radio Cultura broadcasts Yuri Medianik's live solo performance

Winner of international music competitions Yuri Medianik will perform in the Unusual Concert on March 20 at 7.00pm as part of the Music Curiosities cycle. The emcee of the concert is Artem Vargaftik. The performance will be broadcast from Studio 5 of the State Radio House in Moscow. Part One of the concert will be dedicated to compositions for violin (Yuri Medianik) and piano (Sergey Voronov). The audience will hear Tartini's Didona Abandonata, Milhaud's Three Brazilian Dances and Schnittke's Sonata No 1 for Violin and Piano. In the second part of the concert Yuri will play his own transcriptions of pieces by Couperin, Daquin, Scarlatti, Ibert and Sonata No 2 by V.Semenov for bayan. The internet broadcast of the concert will be available through the website of Radio Cultura (www.cultradio.ru).
